Ms. Teresa Quinn, Principal
Ms. Quinn began her District 65 career 15 years ago as a school social worker. As part of the District 65 Aspiring Leaders program, prior to becoming Assistant Principal at Dawes, she worked with a D65 principal mentor to prepare for a school leadership role. Her background in social work is evident in her clear commitment to inclusive school environments and Individualized Education Services. She has also played a vital role in working with the district in developing the implementation of Restorative Practices and revision of our discipline policies. She has always been deeply passionate about developing rigorous curriculum that engages all learners and closing the opportunity gap for our Black and Brown students.
Ms. Susana Yépez, Assistant Principal
I’m excited to act as the Assistant Principal at Dawes Elementary School. I worked as a CPS Spanish Teacher, World Language Department Chair and Dual Language Coordinator at Roosevelt High School for 15 years. Throughout my various roles, my goal has been to develop a strong sense of connection to the process of fostering meaningful relationships with parents and teachers in order to support the overall success and well-being of students. As an educator, my goal is to create a school community that focuses on the needs of the students and values equity, diversity and the academic success of all students.
